Paul Harvey was an American radio broadcaster for ABC News Radio. He broadcast News and Comment on mornings and mid-days on weekdays and at noon on Saturdays and also his famous The Rest of the Story segments.
Harvey was once the most popular radio personality in America. His broadcasts from 1951 to 2008 reached more than 20 million loyal listeners who tuned in every week to hear his unique blend of news and views. Paul Harvey News was the world's largest communications conglomerate with 1,300 radio stations, an additional 400 stations on the American Forces Radio Network, 100 television stations, and 300 newspapers. His broadcasts and newspaper columns were reprinted in the Congressional Record more often than those of any other commentator.
I know that many people do not remember Paul Harvey, but I grew up listening to him on the radio. I often wonder what happened to his brand of "common sense" wisdom and what he would have to say about society today.
This broadcast by the legendary Paul Harvey from April 3rd, 1965 seems prophetic and very relevant today, over 60 years later. I have heard this several times over the years and think it is worth revisiting...
This is Paul Harvey... "Good Day!"...
