Are you familiar with the BibleProject? BibleProject began about 12 years ago and is a nonprofit, crowdfunded organization that makes free resources like videos, podcasts, articles, and classes to help people experience the Bible in a way that is approachable and transformative. They do this by showcasing the literary art of the Scriptures and tracing key biblical themes from Genesis to Revelation.
Tim Mackie and Jon Collins (long-time friends and one-time roommates at Multnomah University) were tossing around ideas about how to help people read through Scripture while avoiding the common pitfalls and misunderstandings. How could they present complex biblical themes in a way that was real and unapologetic but still approachable?
Combining Tim's deep biblical understanding and Jon's passion for visual storytelling, they created their first two videos in 2014 and put them online for free. Since then, we have released hundreds of videos, podcast episodes, and other resources, expanded into over 50 languages, and launched the BibleProject app. They want to help people everywhere become life-long students of Scripture.

From an academic point of view the BibleProject probably oversimplifies a lot of the history, cultures and timelines of the Biblical narrative. While the videos focus less on deep, academic dives and more on creating material that is accessible to a broad audience, the podcasts are often more of an in-depth theological way to explore the Bible.
Academic analysis is often focused on facts, not on belief. The BibleProject does biblical theology, not biblical scholarship though they do interact with academia often. They're a faith-based resource focused on helping folks develop a deeper curiosity and understanding about the Scripture upon which their faith is based. The BibleProject brings the Bible to life in a fun and accessible way.
