New (Christmas) Music

I hesitate to post this today. Don't want to be like the Hallmark channel and start celebrating Christmas too early, but most of the new music news this week deal with Christmas releases.

Rend Collective released "Today Is The Saviour's Day" This is the first track pre-released from their second Christmas album, A Jolly Irish Christmas Vol. 2, which is set to drop later this month on October 23.

The band shares, "Like many of you, we need the hope of the Christmas story more than ever. To be reminded that Jesus came down into the dark chaos of life and brought hope like the world had never seen before." The group continues, "Especially with everything going on this year in particular, the Saviour's day feels even more significant to us. Jesus came into this world as a baby, to bring peace and reconciliation to the world. That is what we are celebrating this Saviour's Day and every Christmas!"

GRAMMY winning artist Chris Tomlin has released a new Christmas EP, Miracle Of Love: Christmas Songs of Worship. 

“Christmas is the great surprise to the world, and personally this Christmas continues in the spirit of unexpected gifts. When I found out that my wife and I are expecting our third child this December, I was surprised… to say the least,” said Chris. “Around the same time, I was starting to write music for this Christmas project and as I sat down the concept came so quickly. Christmas is about celebrating a gift from God, a surprise child for Joseph and Mary, a true Miracle Of Love. For me, it is another gift to be able to write a song about the surprise of our third baby girl and the parallel story of the birth of Jesus. As a songwriter, I felt so inspired and loved how each line of the song could have a double meaning.”

Miracle Of Love: Christmas Songs of Worship EP includes two new songs, “Miracle of Love'' and “All the World Awaits (Hosanna)”. (Both are found below.) The project also features the songs from his 2019 Christmas Day: Christmas Songs of Worship EP as well as “Noel” featuring Lauren Daigle originally released in 2015.
